Allow me to introduce myself!

My name is Damian Cross, and I am an experienced scientific and technical copyeditor with a background in pharmaceutical chemistry and medicine. I have also worked with copy for the energy sector.

I have copyedited hundreds of articles for editing agencies in India and China, enabling ESOL authors to see their work appear in leading international academic journals. Many of these articles needed substantial rewriting to conform to current English style.

My work has appeared in the following journals, among many others:

I have worked on reports for the UK Government Department of Energy and Climate Change and an Armed Forces charity. I have also edited reports, dissertations and theses for academics and postgraduate students at UK universities.

In addition, I have several years in-house experience with Thomson Reuters, now part of Clarivate Analytics. While with this company, I edited Derwent World Patents Index pharmaceutical and biotech abstracts, checking the copy against the original patent documents (often in foreign languages, such as French and German)

I have been professionally trained by the Publishing Training Centre via their course in Proofreading by Distance Learning.
